Marjean, author of Walking Through the Watermelon Patch, has completed her first children's book- Dancing Watermelon Babies and Mr. Mouse's Good Deed.
As a parent you do not have to be an educator or a specialists in a particular field to have the compassion and concern that you want your children to succeed in whatever their interest may be. As a writer, I spoke with many people in various walks of life--and the connecting line was to love your children, take time to talk with them, even as little ones only months old.
As a suggestion, place books in the toy chest--they will be available to your child and it gives them choices. Finally, buy a book, share a book. There are many children that do not have access to books. As a teaching aid, why not teach your young ones to share their books with other children once they are finished with them. Watch for the next book in Mr. Mouse's series.
